Yay Photographers!

Well, after much ado, Steve and I officially have photographers for our wedding. They are Emily Lodigensky and Mollie Hull. They both have extensive photography backgrounds, but are new to the business side of things. Their portfolios are on the small side, but what's in them is astounding. Each of them is incredibly talented and we are so excited to have them on board to document our day! You can find examples of their work at their respective websites.

Photography

If there's one thing we have learned through this wedding planning process it's that photographers are expensive. I don't think either of us were quite prepared just how much wedding photography costs. We've already met with a husband and wife team, but are still looking for that perfect person who we believe will fulfill our wants and fit in our budget. Whoever you are, we know you're out there somewhere!!! We have our dream location, now we just need to find that special talent to document our day :) Keep your fingers crossed for us!

The Foundation

Steve and I visited The Foundation last Friday evening and we have secured it as our wedding/reception site! We wanted to find a place with charm and character and this place has it in abundance. It's located in the West Bottoms, which for those of you unfamiliar with Kansas City is the former home of the infamous KC Stockyards. The West Bottoms is currently home to Kemper Arena, the American Royal Complex, several Haunted Houses and lots and lots of really old buildings which are being converted into lofts, event space, restaurants, retail businesses and more. The West Bottoms is the oldest part of Kansas City and the building The Foundation is located in was built in 1875. Patrick, the owner, is an Architectural Restoration Specialist and has a showroom with architectural pieces on the level above the event space. This place is fabulous and I love everything about it! We are so excited to have our wedding there and can't wait to see how it all turns out!
